7th KRIHS-IDB Annual Workshop: Data-driven urban planning in LAC and Korea

GDPC at KRIHS held the 7th KRIHS-IDBAnnual Workshop on Tuesday, December 10 at the Inter-American Development Bank(IDB) headquarters in Washington D.C. The workshop aims to share cooperativeactivities and research outcomes of “data-driven urban planning” and explorecontinuous cooperation between KRIHS and IDB. About 30 people participated inthe workshop including the IDB staff and KRIHS delegation.

At the beginning ofthe event, Tatiana Gallego Lizon, Chief of the Housing and Urban DevelopmentDivision (HUD) and Se Hoon Park, Director of GDPC delivered welcoming remarks.Andres Blanco, Lead Specialist at HUD, IDB shared the results from jointactivities between KRIHS and IDB.

During the mainsession of the workshop, two researchers from each organization presented thelatest research and activities using the data-driven method in each region:GIS, urban disaster prevention in South Korea, smart city, and urban policymakingin the LAC.
